Privacy policy

Short version: the tools run entirely in your browser and we never receive what you type into them. Ads and hosting logs are the only places your data goes.

The tools do not send us your input

Every tool on this site runs as JavaScript inside your own browser. When you paste an IMEI or an IP address into one, that value is processed on your device and is never transmitted to us. There is no server to receive it and no log that records it.

You can verify this rather than take our word for it: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use any tool on the site. You will see no request carrying your input.

What is collected automatically

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, as essentially all web hosting does. These typically record your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser's user-agent string and the referring page. They are used for security and diagnosing faults, and are retained by the host under their own retention policy.

We do not run our own analytics product and we do not set our own tracking cookies.

Advertising

This site carries advertising to fund the work. Ads are served by a third-party network — currently Google AdSense — which may set cookies or use similar technologies to measure and personalise what you see. That processing happens under the network's own privacy policy, not ours.

You can control personalised advertising from Google at My Ad Center, and review how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com.

Embedded content and outbound links

Some pages embed content from other sites, and articles link out to vendor advisories, NVD, CISA and GitHub. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited that site directly, and those operators may collect data about you. We have no control over that and no access to it.

Comments and forms

Where a page offers a comment form or a helpfulness vote, only what you submit is recorded. Comment systems typically store the name, email address and IP you supply alongside the comment. Do not put anything in a public comment you would not want indexed.

Your rights

You can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. In practice we hold very little — most requests concern comments or an email you have sent us. Write to [email protected] and we will respond.

Children

This site is written for security professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the foot of the page changes with it. Material changes will be noted on the site rather than made silently.
